January 29, 1995 8:09 AM - The glorious day I popped into this world to say hello from the other side. Hahaha silliness aside, this Friday I turned twenty one and ended up having a really good birthday. I never really celebrated my birthday much, except that one party my sister threw for me when I turned ten, so birthday's were never really all that special for me. However, this one was pretty dang awesome! Everyone at work spoiled me; Greg and Sarah got me a card and flowers (in the most adorable ladybug pot that I will keep forever), Branden sent me a balloon and flowers. He also got me a massage gift certificate (!!!!) Michelle got me pajamas and socks and brought me a coffee to work, Tiffany brought me pizza, Ray bought me pasta from Michael's Bistro for lunch.. I was just spoiled all day! I have never received so much love from my coworkers before, it was really quite wonderful. Later that evening after work, my sister Tanya and I headed out to Leavenworth to meet up with Ruben, Maria, Pauly, and Alyona at a gorgeous cabin we had booked for the weekend. The road was a little nerve wracking, especially through the mountain it was really snowy and the roads were winding and dark but we made it safely. The cabin was BEAUTIFUL!! We were pretty deep in the woods, and right on the river, everything was so snowy and peaceful. Saturday morning Maria and I went hot tubbing while everyone else was still sleeping and it was the best time! You could see the sun just barely peeking through the trees and cutting through the fog, illuminating the mountain crag while everything else was hidden. The roaring of the river would drown out our whispers and provoke exclamations of wonder. It would lull you to sleep at night, and fill your ears with the sound of nature every morning. The cabin didn't have any service, and it actually ended up being pretty nice because no one was on their phones for the whole weekend. It forced us to have a face to face interaction with one another. One thing I noticed, was that not having my phone to waste time on made my weekend feel so much longer! I thought about starting to unplug more on the weekends instead of wasting time on social media and other things and focus more on the here and now. I'm pretty excited for this coming year, I feel like a lot of good things are coming. Anyways, here's the beginning of my adventures as a twenty one year old!

Pictures just do not do it justice.
Shredded chicken tacos and guacamole, made by yours truly!
Masha and I whipped up this bomb breakfast.
I couldn't resist! All the heart eyes.
I tried to explore the backyard while everyone was sleeping but I didn't realize the snow was over the top of my knees!
Mine and Tanya's room.
The cabin had four bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeps eight people. It was just overall so wonderful and relaxing and beautiful! Definitely a trip to remember.
My balloons and flowers from work :)
And of course a BIRTHDAY SELFIE!! You really didn't think I would forget that, did you?
